Coming to the stage in April 2025. . .
A New Journey Home by Jake DuVall-Early A Union deserter, on his way home to his family, comes across a small Confederate camp on their way to join back up with the rest of their men. After an initial battle, a Union and a Confederate soldier must fight for their lives by working together. Throughout the course of the story, the two men grow closer, sharing perspectives, stories, and conclusions from their years lived and experiences shared. A timeless and deeply poignant philosophical study into the systems that control and oppress us, this bold new original work seeks to examine the ties that bind, from duty, to society, to brotherhood, and when and why those ties end. Perhaps the only real battle is the one each citizen has with themselves, as they ask what it is they are fighting for, and if they really have any stake in society’s battle at all. |

Ask the actors:
What interested you in working on this project?
Michael Gwin (Isaac/Historian)
"I am excited to get a chance to be creative again in the Theatre. It is such an interesting process to delve into a character and understand why they make the choices that they do. I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they know and I think understanding that is the excitement of character development." |
Jake DuVall-Early (Jubal)
"I have wanted to tell this story for a long time. It started with a love of history, instilled by my Grandmother (our Dramaturg/Costumer), followed by a short story I wrote all the way back in 2007 exploring similar themes, to recent conversations with David and Michael about actually bringing this story to life. All of this is what inspired my Mom (Kimberly DuVall) to create a Production Company, and inspired my wife Marissa to be our Stage Manager. This is truly a group project a year in the making, and I couldn't have asked for a better group" |
